Folded Resin Wall Light

The shade on this fitting is cast in resin and folded like fabric caught mid-movement, which gives a hard material an unexpectedly soft outline. It measures roughly twenty-three centimetres across the widest point and projects about sixteen and a half from the wall. Lit from within, the folds pick up light at different angles so the shade has visible depth rather than reading as one flat colour.

Four colours are available. White is the most neutral and lets the folding carry the interest; grey is a little cooler and works well in a room with concrete, stone or darker timber. Green and orange are the two accent colours and are best used singly rather than repeated, since the shade is already doing a lot of visual work on its own without being multiplied along a wall.

Inside is a five watt G9 LED running on ninety to two hundred and sixty volts, available in warm white or cool white. The fitting is wall-mounted and hardwired, so there is no visible flex, and it is rated for indoor use in dry locations only. Have it installed by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated at the consumer unit. Dust the resin with a soft dry cloth rather than anything abrasive.
