Galvain French Empire Crystal Chandelier

The Galvain takes the French Empire chandelier and reworks it for a modern interior. A wide circular brass frame holds rows of cut-crystal prisms that cascade downward in layers, catching and scattering light across the room. Fan-shaped crystal ornaments crown the upper ring, adding a level of detail that rewards a closer look. Unlit, the frame and the prisms still hold the eye as a piece of structure.

The frame carries a warm gold brass finish, with decorative scroll arms rising from the body to a central suspension point. Four E14 candelabra sockets sit inside the crystal drum, each feeding the even ambient glow the design is built around. An adjustable chain sets the drop height, so the fitting can be hung clear of a table or dropped lower in a room with height to spare.

It suits dining rooms, drawing rooms and bedrooms in Georgian, French provincial or transitional settings, where a confident centrepiece is the point rather than a quiet one. Allow room around it so the prisms are seen from the side as well as from below. Installation is hardwired and the weight of the frame means the ceiling fixing should be checked first; a qualified electrician should carry out the work. Dust the prisms with a dry soft cloth.
