Garden Tap Solar Feature Light

An old trick done well: a tap suspended in mid-air with light apparently pouring out of it. The support arm is hidden behind the falling strands, so from a few feet away the whole thing looks as though it is floating over the border. Two versions are offered - a fine copper-wire cascade that sparkles, and a smoother flowing style that reads more like water caught in lamplight.

Power comes from a small solar panel on the arm. It charges through the day, lights automatically once the sun goes down and needs no cable, which is what makes it practical to put in the middle of a bed rather than up against a wall. Sit it among low planting or in a wide pot and the strands catch the leaves around them.

The frame and fittings are weather resistant and intended to stay out through the seasons. Push the stake in firmly so the arm stays upright in wind, and give the panel a wipe now and then. It is a decorative ornament rather than a working water feature, so there is nothing to plumb in, nothing to fill and nothing to drain down before the first hard frost arrives.
