A plain-weave microfibre pillowcase in a small gingham check, cut to 48 by 74 centimetres and closed with an envelope flap rather than a zip, so there is nothing hard to feel through the fabric at night. The check is woven at a small scale, which keeps it quiet enough to sit under a patterned duvet cover without the two fighting, and reads as texture from across the room.
Microfibre is soft-washed before it is made up, so the case arrives without the starchy handle that new bedding often has, and it dries quickly and creases far less than cotton of a similar weight. The envelope flap tucks the end of the pillow away completely, which stops the pillow working its way out during the night and keeps the end of the case looking square.
Five colours are offered, in rustic rose, sandy taupe, forest green, golden dusk and misty blue, and each is available singly or as a pair at a reduced price. Pillows are not included. Machine wash warm with like colours, tumble dry on a low heat and remove the case promptly while it is still slightly warm, which limits creasing and saves any ironing. Keep bedding away from open fires, candles, radiators and portable heaters.
