Gingham Ruffle-Edge Bedding Set

A gingham check in a cotton and microfibre blend, finished with a gathered ruffle around the edge of the cover and the pillowcases. The ruffle is what lifts it out of plain country bedding — it gives the made bed a soft outline instead of a hard hemmed line, and it holds its shape through washing rather than collapsing flat after a few cycles.

Four colourways are offered: a blush pink, a sky blue, a soft sage and a black noir check, each on a white ground so the pattern stays light rather than heavy. The set includes a duvet cover, a fitted sheet and pillowcases, so it is a complete change of bedding rather than a cover that needs a sheet found to go with it.

Three sizes are available: single, double and king. The cotton content gives it a cooler, crisper handle than a pure synthetic while the blend keeps the creasing down, which is the sensible compromise for bedding that gets washed weekly. Machine wash at 40 degrees with like colours and dry on a low heat to protect the ruffle. Shake the cover out and run a hand along the gathered edge while it is still slightly damp, and it will dry with the ruffle standing rather than pressed flat against the hem.
