Glass and Steel Table Lamp 25cm

A rounded glass shade sitting on a stainless steel base, 21 centimetres across and 25 centimetres tall. The proportions are the retro Nordic ones, where the shade is wide and low and the base is short enough that the whole lamp reads as a single rounded mass rather than as a stem with something balanced on top. It suits a bedside table, a hall console or the end of a bookshelf.

Three light levels are selected with a push button on the fitting, and they move through warm white, neutral white and cool white as well as changing brightness. That covers the useful range for a bedside lamp: warm and low for last thing at night, neutral for reading, cool and bright if the lamp is standing in for the main light on a dark afternoon. No dimmer switch is needed.

Glass and steel both wipe clean easily, but the shade will show fingerprints, so a dry microfibre cloth is worth keeping nearby. The lamp is rated for dry indoor use and should not be placed on a windowsill that gets rain or in a bathroom. Stand it where it cannot be knocked, since the shade is glass and the base is heavy enough to do damage if it falls.
