Glass Orb Drop Wall Light 37cm

A twelve centimetre glass orb hangs from a slim iron arm, so the light source sits well below the mounting plate and thirty-seven centimetres down the wall. That drop is what makes the fitting useful beside a bed or an armchair: the light lands where you need it rather than above your head. The glass is clear enough to show the filament of a decorative bulb if you choose one.

Black and gold are both available. Black reads as the more architectural of the two and keeps the arm visually thin; gold catches the light along its length and makes more of a feature of the arm itself. Either can be ordered hardwired for a permanent installation, or as a plug-in version with a lead, which is the easier option in a rented flat or where there is no wiring in place.

The fitting takes a G9 capsule, is dimmable if a dimmable bulb is used, and covers roughly five to ten square metres. Plug-in versions are supplied on a European lead and will need a UK plug adapter. Hardwired versions should be installed by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated at the consumer unit. The fitting is rated for indoor, dry locations only.
