Glass Pebble Pendant Light

A clear glass shade blown into the shape of a water-worn pebble - flattened, slightly asymmetric, with the thickness of the wall varying across it so the light bends rather than passes straight through. Because the glass is transparent the bulb is part of the design, which makes this a pendant that rewards a good filament-style LED and looks wrong with a bare cool-white lamp.

Two sizes are offered. The 15 centimetre version is the one to hang in a group, three or five at staggered heights over an island or a stairwell, where the overlapping shapes do more than any single fitting would. The 23 centimetre is substantial enough to work alone over a dining table or a hallway console. The two mix well together if you want a cluster with some variation in it.

Clear glass means the pendant reads as almost nothing when the light is off, which is useful in a small room or in front of a window where a solid shade would block the view. It does mean the glass shows dust, so plan on a wipe every few weeks. This is a hardwired mains fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated. Fit only to a ceiling point rated for the weight.
