Glow in the Dark Silent Wall Clock 30cm

A clock that keeps working after you turn the light off. The markers and hands are treated with a photoluminescent finish that absorbs daylight or lamplight through the day and releases it slowly once the room goes dark, staying readable for several hours. There is no battery drain involved and nothing to switch on; it simply charges itself from whatever light the room already gets.

That makes it a sensible choice for a bedroom, a landing or a child's room, where a backlit digital display would be too bright but total darkness means fumbling for a phone at three in the morning. Five dial designs are available, from plain high-contrast numerals for maximum legibility to more decorative faces, so it can be the practical clock in a hallway or the quiet feature in a bedroom.

The 30cm case is moulded ABS with a glass cover over the dial, and the movement is an imported silent sweep type, so there is no ticking to keep anyone awake. One AA battery drives it and is not supplied. Hang it where it catches some daylight during the day, which is what keeps the glow strong; a clock kept permanently in a dark corridor will not charge properly. Dust the glass with a dry cloth.
