Gold Pattern Metal Lampshade 19cm

A small tapered shade pressed from iron, pierced so the light escapes in a pattern rather than only from the open ends. The outside is painted in a flat white or black and the inside carries a warm gold finish, which bounces a softer, slightly amber light downwards while the perforations throw a scatter of small bright points across the nearest wall and ceiling.

It measures thirteen centimetres across the top opening and nineteen across the bottom, standing fifteen centimetres tall, which makes it a shade for a compact fitting rather than a statement piece. Use it to replace a tired shade on a bedside pendant, to give a plain table lamp base a harder edge, or to bring a set of mismatched lights in a hallway back into some sort of order.

This is the shade only. There is no lamp holder, cable, ceiling plate or bulb in the box, so it needs an existing E27 fitting to sit on. Because the shade is metal it will get warm in use, and it suits a cooler-running LED lamp better than an old filament bulb. Dust it with a dry brush and wipe the painted outside with a barely damp cloth.
