Greyburn Jute Rope Chandelier

The Greyburn is a wagon-wheel chandelier wrapped in thick natural jute rope, with a ring of angled black metal conical shades set around the frame. Each shade houses a filament-style Edison bulb, and the light falls in warm, distinct pools rather than as a single even wash. The rope gives the frame its texture and its weight, while the matte black metalwork keeps the outline crisp, so the fitting carries vintage character without looking like a reproduction.

Construction is all metal beneath the rope, finished in matte black for a sturdy fitting that holds its look year after year. Two configurations are offered: a nine-light version at 95cm diameter and a seventeen-light version at 150cm diameter, so the piece can be scaled to the room rather than forced into it. The fitting takes screw-fitting bulbs, supplied to suit the destination, with E27 on UK orders and E26 on US orders. Bulbs are not included with the chandelier.

Greyburn suits a domestic dining room, a larger open-plan living space or a bar, and both sizes need generous ceiling height so the shades sit above eye level. Hardwired installation is required and a qualified electrician is recommended, particularly for the seventeen-light version, which is a heavy fitting and needs a properly rated ceiling fixing. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor environments only. Dust the rope with a soft brush rather than a damp cloth, which can mark natural jute.
