This is the shade on its own, not a complete light. Bamboo is light, so it hangs comfortably from a standard cord, and the open weave keeps the shade from feeling heavy above a worktop. Fit a warm-toned lamp and the cane pattern reads clearly on the ceiling above.

Natural fibre and heat need a sensible distance between them, so use an LED lamp rather than a halogen or incandescent bulb and keep the shade clear of the lamp itself. Dust it with a dry brush and do not soak it.
