Harko Marble Wall Sconce

The Harko is a disc of natural stone with a frosted glass sphere set into its face. The marble is turned into a shallow dish, so the raised rim catches the light and throws a soft halo back across the wall while the sphere carries the direct output. A pale cream stone with faint amber veining keeps the piece quiet in daylight and warm once it is switched on.

Stone and glass are the only two materials in the fitting, which is why it reads as one solid object rather than an assembly of brackets and covers. Because the backplate is cut from real marble, no two pieces share the same veining, and the supplier states this openly: patterning varies from the photographs shown. It measures 20cm across and 20cm high with a 13cm projection, and takes a single G9 capsule bulb.

At that size the Harko is compact enough to run in pairs down a hallway or flank a bed without crowding the wall, and it suits a landing or a chimney breast equally well. The shallow projection keeps it clear of a shoulder in a narrow passage. Marble is porous, so dust it with a dry soft cloth rather than a household spray, and let the glass sphere cool before changing the capsule bulb.
