IP44 LED Bathroom Mirror Light

Overhead bathroom lighting is almost always in the wrong place. A single ceiling fitting throws a shadow straight down the face, which is precisely where you do not want one when shaving or putting on make-up. A bar mounted above the mirror fixes that by lighting from the front, and this one is a slim aluminium extrusion that sits close to the wall rather than jutting out over the glass.

It is rated IP44, which is the specification that matters in a bathroom: protected against splashing water from any direction, and suitable for the zones around a basin. The housing combines aluminium with ABS to keep the weight down while resisting the constant humidity that corrodes cheaper steel fittings. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to replace behind a sealed lens.

Two lengths are offered - twenty centimetres for a compact cloakroom mirror and forty for a full vanity - in warm white for a softer look or cool white for accurate colour when doing make-up. It is a hardwired fitting, not a plug-in one. UK bathroom wiring is regulated work, so have it installed by a qualified electrician who can confirm the correct zone and circuit protection.
