An aluminium wall light rated IP65, which means it is sealed against dust and against water jetted at it from any direction, so it can be fitted on an exposed wall, a porch or a garden elevation and left to get on with it. Five sizes are offered and each one is a different length, from 80 millimetres up to 320 millimetres, all of them roughly 80 millimetres deep.
The size you choose is the output you get. The 2 watt version is a marker light for a step or a doorway; the 6 and 8 watt versions light a porch properly; the 12 watt version at 320 millimetres long will wash a good stretch of wall. Warm white suits brick and stone, cool white suits render and modern cladding. White and black housings are both available.
The fitting runs on 85 to 265 volts and is hardwired, so it must be installed by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated first and the outdoor cable and glands specified correctly for the position. Fix into something solid, not into render alone. IP65 covers rain and hose-down, but the fitting should not be sited where it can stand in water or be submerged.
