Iron Ring Wall Light 25cm

A single iron ring twenty-five centimetres across with one lamp set into it, this fitting is as pared back as a wall light gets. The circle reads clearly against a plain wall whether it is lit or not, which is why it works so well over a bed or in a pair down a corridor. The metal is finished in a matt paint rather than a lacquer, so it does not throw reflections back into the room.

Black is the more graphic of the two finishes and suits a room with dark joinery, black window frames or a strong colour on the walls. White is quieter and tends to disappear into pale plaster, leaving only the lamp itself visible when it is lit. Both are the same fitting and take the same bulb, so the choice is purely about how much you want the ring to show.

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule and runs on two hundred and twenty to two hundred and forty volts. It is hardwired rather than plug-in, which keeps the wall clean but means a dedicated connection is needed behind the fitting. The unit is rated for dry locations only. Use a qualified electrician, and isolate the circuit at the consumer unit before starting any work on the wiring.
