The Isra sets a clear glass tube inside an open rectangular cage of dark grey die-cast aluminium. The cage stands away from the glass on all four sides, so the fitting keeps a graphic outline in daylight and casts a soft crossed shadow on the wall once it is switched on. Light leaves in every direction rather than through one face, throwing a wash upwards and downwards as well as out to the sides.
The frame is die-cast aluminium and the inner tube is glass rather than plastic, which keeps the surface clear through repeated wetting and drying outdoors. An IP65 rating means the housing is dust tight and stands up to water jets from any direction, so the Isra can go on an exposed elevation with nothing sheltering it above. At 13 cm wide and projecting 11.5 cm it clears a door swing.
That shallow projection makes it workable in a narrow porch or a side passage where a deeper lantern would be in the way, and the all-round throw suits a wall you want lit as much as a path you want to see. It is supplied as a hardwired 230V fitting, so installation belongs to a qualified electrician. Being open, the cage collects leaves and cobwebs over a season; lift them out with a brush and wipe the glass tube at the same time.
