Jovo Smoke Grey Glass Pendant Light

The Jovo hangs a single flat disc of smoke grey glass from fine cables and a low black canopy. The glass is thick enough to read as a solid object rather than a shade, and the lit core sits inside it as a small bright ring that the tint softens on the way out. The disc is 25 cm across and only 11 cm deep, so it hangs low without blocking a sightline across a room.

A warm LED is already fitted inside the metal collar at the centre, so there is no bulb to buy and nothing exposed to glare. Light leaves through the underside as a defined pool and bleeds sideways through the grey glass at the same time, which gives a table a bright working surface and the rest of the room a low ambient wash. Because the source is enclosed, the fitting stays comfortable to sit beneath for a long meal.

The suspension cable is adjustable, so the drop can be set for a dining table, a kitchen island or a stairwell where the fitting is seen from below and from the side. Jovo is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms and connects to a hardwired ceiling point, so settle the height before the canopy is fixed. Wipe the glass with a dry cloth to keep the tint reading evenly.
