Kenva Pine Lantern Wall Light

The Kenva hangs a metal storm lantern from a short chain beneath a solid pine bracket. The bracket is built from stacked timber slats with a deep, visible grain and a warm mid-brown tone, while the lantern body carries an antique bronze finish with a wire guard wrapped around a clear glass chimney. At 40cm tall and only 10cm deep, the fitting reads as a small object placed on the wall rather than as a piece of hardware, with timber and metal both plainly on show.

An E27 screw fitting sits inside the lantern, which leaves the bulb to set the character of the light. A clear filament lamp picks out the wire guard and throws a lively pattern of shadow across the wall behind it, while a frosted lamp gives a softer and more even glow. Bulbs are not supplied, so brightness and colour temperature stay open to suit the room. The chain suspension lets the lantern settle beneath the bracket rather than sitting rigid.

Kenva suits a hallway, a bedside, a dining wall or a bar counter, and it sits well against exposed brick, reclaimed timber and dark paintwork. Fitted in a pair either side of a bed or a fireplace it reads as a considered arrangement rather than general lighting. Choose the bulb before settling the position, since a clear lamp needs wall around it for the shadow pattern to show. Dust the pine with a dry cloth and wipe the glass chimney now and then.
