Lanto Milk Glass Wall Light

The Lanto sets two lantern-shaped white glass shades either side of a cast brass centre rosette, so the whole fitting reads as one sculptural bar across the wall. The fluted glass is capped at each end with pressed brass finials, which gives it the feel of a rescued Art Deco original rather than a new fitting.

The shades are milk glass and the metalwork is brass, and the fitting measures 60 cm long by 19 cm high and weighs 3 kg. Each shade takes an E26 lamp and bulbs are not included, so brightness and warmth can be chosen to suit the room. Lit, the milk glass glows softly from end to end; unlit, it holds its own as a piece of wall decoration.

Mounted horizontally, it is a natural fit above a bathroom mirror, over a bedhead or above a console table, where the two shades spread light evenly along the wall instead of concentrating it in one spot. Allow a clear run of at least 60 cm and check that the fixing points suit the wall construction before mounting. Wiring should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the glass wipes clean with a soft dry cloth.
