LED Jellyfish Mood Lamp

Inside a tall clear column, two translucent jellyfish drift slowly up and down while the LEDs beneath them cycle gently through colour. It is the modern descendant of the lava lamp, and it holds attention in exactly the same way — not as a light to read by, but as something to watch while the evening winds down. Left on low in a corner it makes a room feel calmer than any overhead light can.

The column stands 35cm tall on a 14cm base and weighs about 0.7kg, which is enough to sit steadily on a shelf or bedside table without being top-heavy. The colour cycle can be left running or held on a single shade, so it works either as a slow-changing feature or as a fixed pool of coloured light. It gives out very little heat and draws very little power.

Power comes from USB or from batteries, so it can sit anywhere — no socket needed if you would rather run it on cells. Use a UK-approved USB mains adapter, which is not supplied. This is a decorative lamp and not a toy: children find it fascinating, so place it out of reach on a stable surface, keep the cable clear of cots and bedding, and supervise young children around it. Keep batteries out of reach and dispose of them at a recycling point.
