Lino Linear Anthracite Outdoor Wall Light

The Lino runs a single 50 cm line of light along an exterior wall. The body is die-cast aluminium finished in anthracite, closed underneath by a satin-finished glass diffuser that spreads the beam before it lands, so the wall picks up a soft graze rather than a hard stripe. At only 6 cm high and 6 cm deep it sits tight to brickwork or render and reads as a detail in the elevation instead of a fitting bolted onto it.

An integrated LED module supplies 1155 lumens at 3000 K warm white and draws 18 W in total, with colour rendering of Ra 83, so brick, timber and planting keep their real colour after dark. Light is thrown downwards only, which puts brightness on the ground where it is useful and keeps it out of windows and out of the sky. The IP65 rating covers dust and water jets from any direction.

That rating suits an open wall with no porch or canopy above it, which is where exterior lighting usually fails first. It works beside a door, along a boundary wall, over a garage or in a run down a terrace, and because the throw is downward it can be repeated without turning a garden into a floodlit yard. Fixing is to a solid wall with the cable brought in behind the body, and the LED module is integrated rather than a replaceable lamp. Wipe the glass at the start of each season.
