Long Pile Plush Cushion Covers

Cushion covers in a long pile plush with a deep, shaggy surface and a highly elastic cotton velvet backing, made up in three sizes and five colours. The pile is long enough to cast its own shadow, which is what makes this kind of cover useful in a room that is already busy with pattern: it adds weight and texture without introducing another print to work around.

All three sizes are cut from the same cloth and finished the same way, with a zip set into one seam so the closure sits flat once a pad is in. The 45 by 45 and 50 by 50 centimetre squares suit general scatter use on a sofa or bed, while the 30 by 50 rectangle sits behind the small of the back where a square cushion is too deep.

Covers are supplied on their own without pads, so measure an existing insert first and allow a little ease so the corners fill. Wash cool on a gentle cycle, avoid fabric conditioner, which mats long pile, and shake the cover out while damp before drying flat away from direct heat. Keep it away from open fires, candles and radiators, as with any deep-pile textile.
