Lovebirds Metal Sculpture

Two birds perched close together on a slender stem, rendered in metal and resin with a high polished finish. The appeal is in the proportions: at forty-four centimetres tall on a footprint only ten centimetres square, it is unusually vertical, which means it adds height to a shelf or console without taking up any useful surface. Rooms that feel flat often just need one tall object, and this does that job elegantly.

Three colourways change its character completely. Rose is soft and warm and reads as romantic. Gold is the most classical of the three and works beside brass lamps and mirrors. Emerald is the boldest, a deep saturated green that looks striking against a dark wall or a shelf of pale books. In each case the finish is glossy enough to catch and throw light, so it stays interesting as the daylight moves round the room.

It makes an obvious wedding, engagement or anniversary gift, but it is just as good bought for yourself for a hallway table or a bedroom chest of drawers. Care is simple: wipe with a dry cloth only, as damp cloths and sprays will leave streaks on a polished surface. It is tall and slender, so place it where it cannot easily be knocked over.
