Luminex Rotating LED Reading Wall Light

Reading in bed is usually a compromise between a lamp that lights the whole room and one that lights nothing useful. This wall light settles it with a spot that rotates through 350 degrees, so the beam can be pushed onto the page and away from the person beside you. The body measures 5cm across and 17.8cm high, slim enough for a narrow stretch of wall next to a headboard.

Aluminium and metal make up the fitting, with a push button switch on the body itself rather than a pull cord or a remote. Output is a fixed level, not dimmable, covering roughly ten to fifteen square metres. Choose the square or the cylinder shape first, then a finish: matte black, black brass, satin nickel, brass or chrome. Warm white gives the softer evening tone, while cool white is crisper for detail work at a desk or along a hallway.

Wiring runs at mains 90-260V and the fitting is hardwired, so it needs a qualified electrician and a properly isolated circuit before work begins. Check the wall for pipes and cables before drilling. The LED is integrated and cannot be replaced by hand, which is what keeps the housing this compact. One further point worth knowing: the spot is bright and tightly directed, so avoid looking straight into it at close range.
