Eight square sheets sit on four slim metal posts, spaced to let a band of glow escape between each one, and the top sheet carries a circular cut-out that lines up with the sphere below.

The acrylic is transparent rather than frosted, so the orange deepens where two sheets overlap and lightens towards the edges, and the metal posts pick up a fine highlight down their length.
