Marella Tasselled Chevron Sofa Cover

Tassels are what separate a sofa throw from a sofa cover. This one is jacquard-knitted with a chevron running through the weave and finished along the short edges with a hand-knotted fringe, so it drapes over an arm and reads as a deliberate layer rather than something protecting the upholstery underneath.

The yarn is an anti-pilling microfibre, which matters more on a knitted throw than on a woven one: knitted surfaces are the ones that go bobbly first, and a cheap yarn will look tired within a season. Three weaves are offered — Cocoa for a warm brown, Ivory for a soft neutral and Slate for a cool grey. All three are subtle enough to sit on a patterned sofa without clashing.

Three sizes are available, all 180cm wide: 130cm for an armchair or a small two-seater, 150cm for a standard two-seater and 180cm for a three-seater or as a bed throw across a double. The knit is dense enough to be genuinely warm over a lap on a winter evening, which is more than most decorative throws manage. Machine wash on a delicate cycle, avoid bleach, and dry flat where possible to keep the chevron from stretching out of shape.
