Merto Caged Lantern Outdoor Wall Light

The Merto from Lockhone takes the shape of a traditional coach lantern and hangs it from a slim curved arm, so the light sits clear of the wall and falls forward across a path, a porch or a front door. A gently flared black crown caps four clear glass panes, and a small finial and ring at the top finish the silhouette. At 47.4 cm tall the Merto reads as a proper architectural fitting rather than a small utility light, and the matt black finish settles easily against brick, render or painted timber.

Clear glazing on all four sides leaves the bulb visible from every angle, which makes the Merto a natural home for a decorative filament lamp. A fine metal cage crosses the glass and breaks the spread into soft bands as it travels, adding texture to the pool of light on the ground below. The effect is a warm and welcoming glow at an entrance rather than a flat wash, and the open lantern form keeps the same character whether the light is switched on or off.

Construction is iron with a powder-coated black finish and clear glazing, rated IP43 for sheltered positions such as a covered entrance, a porch or a balcony wall. The lamp holder takes one screw-fit bulb up to 60 W and can be dimmed through an external dimmer if the circuit already carries one. A bulb is not included, and the fitting is supplied to suit the destination, with an E27 (ES) holder on UK orders and E26 on US orders. Delivery takes 8-15 working days.
