A small resin monkey sits braced against the wall with both arms raised, holding a shallow wrought iron tray above its head. The figure is hand-finished, with the face and hands picked out in enough detail to carry the joke at close range, and the tray itself is plain and flat so whatever you put on it stays the focus. It works as an ornament that happens to be useful rather than a shelf with a decoration stuck on.
The whole piece stands 25 cm tall and projects 17 cm from the wall, with a 10 cm depth of tray. It fixes with a strong adhesive strip on the backplate, so no drilling is needed and it can go on tile, painted plaster or a smooth panel. That makes it a reasonable answer to a hallway with nowhere to drop keys, a bathroom wall that needs somewhere for a ring, or a desk wall short of surface.
Seven finishes are offered: light green, blue, light blue, orange, pink, red and light grey. Press the adhesive pad firmly onto a clean, dry, smooth surface and leave it a full day before loading the tray. Keep the load light, to keys, a phone or small jewellery rather than anything heavy, and do not mount it above a bed, a cot or a hob. Wipe the resin with a dry, soft cloth.
