Moon Globe Garden Lamp 20cm

Most garden lighting points at something. This does the opposite: a 20cm sphere that sits on the ground and simply glows, its surface moulded with the shallow craters and ridges of a moon so the light breaks up rather than reading as a flat bulb. Set among low planting it looks as though something has landed in the border, which is a far more interesting effect than another spike light.

The shell is a dense weather-resistant resin, thick enough to diffuse the LED evenly and to take a season of rain, and the finish is a soft off-white that holds its warmth once lit. It works on a lawn, at the foot of a step, on a terrace beside seating, or indoors in a hallway if you would rather keep it out of the weather altogether.

At this size it reads as an object first and a lamp second, so give it space rather than lining several up. Site it where it will not be caught by a mower or a foot in the dark, and lift it before hard frost if the garden gets a severe winter. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth to keep the texture crisp.
