Mushroom Disco Ball Ornament

A disco ball reshaped into a mushroom, covered in mirrored facets that throw small moving lights across a room whenever the sun comes round or a lamp is switched on. It belongs to that strand of interiors that refuses to take itself too seriously, and it works best where it can catch light: a windowsill, a bar cart, a shelf near a lamp, or the middle of a table at a party.

Three finishes are offered. Silver is the most classic and gives the crispest, coolest reflections. Gold is warmer and reads as more decorative than disco. Rose gold sits between the two and pairs unexpectedly well with pink, terracotta and blush tones. Four sizes run from a small 11 x 8cm piece that tucks onto a shelf up to a 20 x 25cm version substantial enough to be the centrepiece of a table on its own.

Each mushroom is assembled by hand from individual mirror tiles onto a moulded core, so tiny variations in tile alignment are normal and are part of how these are made. Dust it with a soft dry brush or cloth rather than a wet one, which can work its way behind the tiles. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight on a hot windowsill, and out of reach of small children - the mirror tiles are glass and can be prised loose.
