Nerva Alabaster Cylinder Pendant Light

Nerva pairs a solid alabaster shade with a polished brass fitting. Each shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining runs differently through every piece and only shows its full depth once the lamp is switched on. Light passing through the stone comes out soft and warm rather than glaring, which makes the pendant comfortable to sit beneath for long stretches at a table or a kitchen worktop.

The shade measures 14 cm across and 15 cm tall, a compact size that suits places where a large fitting would dominate the space. The cord is supplied at 150 cm and can be shortened at installation to set the drop height, with longer lengths available on request. Brass components are polished and electroplated to a warm finish, and the lamp takes one screw fitting bulb of up to 40 W.

It works above a kitchen island, over a bedside table, in a hallway, or hung in a row of two or three along a dining table, where the compact shade keeps the run from looking heavy. The fitting mounts to a standard ceiling point and should be hardwired by a qualified electrician. Wipe the stone and brass with a dry cloth, and keep damp cloths and metal polishes off the plated finish.
