Nordic Dome Pendant Light

The plain metal dome is the most useful shape in Scandinavian lighting: it directs light downward onto whatever sits beneath it and keeps the glare out of your eyes at the table. This one is a compact 13 x 12cm, small enough to hang in a row of three over a kitchen island or a run of worktop without the ceiling feeling crowded, and quiet enough to use singly over a bedside table or a stairwell.

It comes in a soft white and a warm mid-grey, both matt, both chosen to sit against a painted ceiling rather than fight it. The cord is offered in one-metre and two-metre lengths so the drop can be matched to the room: shorter for a standard ceiling above a table, longer for a hallway with a high void or a double-height landing. An E27 LED bulb is included, and the colour temperature can be chosen as cool or warm white.

The fitting takes any standard E27 lamp, so it can be re-lamped from any supermarket for years to come. It runs on 90-260V, which covers UK mains without adaptation. This is a hardwired ceiling fitting: it should be installed by a qualified electrician, with the lighting circuit isolated at the consumer unit first and the ceiling checked for joists and cables before drilling.
