Ornamental Jacquard Sofa Cover

Draped rather than fitted, and worth being clear about that from the start. This is a loose cover you lay over a sofa, not a tailored fitted one that stretches around the arms and tucks into the seams, so it will shift as people sit and stand and needs smoothing back into place afterwards. Think of it as a decorative layer for covering wear, changing a colour scheme, or keeping a favourite sofa presentable.

The fabric is a plush microfibre blend woven with an ornamental jacquard of circular and scroll motifs, so the pattern is built into the cloth rather than printed on top of it, and fringe and tassels finish the edges. Four colours run from ivory noir and almond cream through misty ash to a muted sage green, all quiet enough to sit against an existing sofa without fighting it.

Two sizes are made: a 90 x 180cm runner for laying along the back or the seat, and a 180 x 130cm cover for draping across the whole piece. The larger size works well folded across the end of a bed too. Wash cold on a gentle cycle, then line dry or tumble dry on low so the pile keeps its loft. Between washes, a shake and a straighten is usually all it takes.
