Outdoor Retro Wall Clock 30cm

Most wall clocks give up the moment they go outside. This one is built for it: a 30cm resin case with a sealed front and an IP44 rating, which covers splashing water and the sort of drifting rain a covered terrace or porch actually gets. The dial is plain and generously spaced, with bold numerals and long hands, so the time reads clearly from the far end of a garden table.

The styling borrows from old station and workshop clocks, with a deep bezel and a slightly domed face that gives the piece some presence on a bare wall. Black works against brick, rendered walls, fence panels and painted timber alike, and the matt finish keeps glare down in bright sun. Hang it above a garden bar, beside a back door, on a summer-house wall or in a porch.

Fixing is a single screw or hook through the keyhole on the back. Choose a spot with some overhead shelter where you can: IP44 is rated for splashing, not for sitting under a downpour or being hosed down, and a sheltered position will keep the movement running sweetly for far longer. It runs on a single battery, which is not included, and the case wipes clean with a damp cloth.
