Turned wood suits candlelight in a way that metal and glass do not. It absorbs light instead of bouncing it around, so the flame stays the brightest thing on the table, and the profile of a turned column throws a soft vertical shadow that glass simply cannot. These holders are turned from pine and offered in three profiles, each designed to look good alone and better in a group of three at different heights.
The zig-zag is the short one at 105mm tall and 50mm across, with a stepped waist that catches light down one side. The hourglass and the venturi are both 190mm tall and 45mm across, one pinched at the centre and the other flared. Each weighs around 120g, which is enough to stay stable on a laid table without being heavy to move. Three finishes are offered: painted white, painted black and natural pine with the grain left visible. Mixing shapes within one finish tends to look more considered than matching shapes across finishes.
They take standard taper candlesticks, which are not included. Wood and flame need respect: never leave a burning candle unattended, keep holders away from curtains, paper and anything overhanging, and stand them on a heat-resistant surface. Stop burning a candle before it reaches within 5cm of the holder, keep them out of reach of children and pets, and clean with a soft dry cloth rather than anything wet.
