PivotLamp Adjustable LED Desk Lamp

A desk lamp is judged on two things: whether you can put the light exactly where the work is, and whether it stays there. The PivotLamp is built around a weighted 11cm base and a jointed arm that holds its position rather than creeping downward through the afternoon. At 35cm tall it clears a laptop screen without arching over it. The base is narrow enough to sit behind a monitor stand rather than fighting it for space on the desk.

The head, the elbow and the base all move independently, so the beam can be aimed down at paper, sideways onto a keyboard, or up at a wall for indirect light during a video call. An integrated switch dims the 7W LED and steps the colour temperature between warm and cool, which is genuinely useful if the same desk is used in daylight and after dark.

Five finishes are offered: black and white for a desk that should stay quiet, brushed nickel for something more considered, and red or yellow if the lamp is meant to be the bit of colour in a plain room. The metal body wipes clean with a dry cloth. It is an indoor fitting on a 150cm cord and needs a socket within reach of the desk.
