Planet Glass Flush Mount Ceiling Light

A coloured glass globe sitting close to an iron base gives this fitting its planetary look, and at 13.8cm across by 17cm high it stays neatly in proportion in a hallway, a small landing or above a stairwell where a hanging pendant would only get in the way. Choose the shade in blue or orange, then pair it with a black or copper base, so the same shape can read as cool and graphic or warm and burnished depending on the room around it.

One E27 lampholder sits inside the globe. The bulb is not included, which leaves the character of the light entirely up to you: a clear filament lamp throws colour and pattern onto the ceiling, while an opal bulb keeps the glow even across the glass. Dimmable bulbs are compatible, so the fitting can be taken down to a low evening level where your circuit allows it. Some light assembly is required before installation, and the glass shade needs a careful hand.

The fitting is hardwired for a 220-240V supply, and it can be mounted on a ceiling or turned to sit against a wall as a flush light. It is rated for dry indoor locations only, so keep it to hallways, bedrooms and living spaces rather than bathrooms or anywhere it will meet steam. Installed thoughtfully, it makes a quiet feature of an otherwise plain ceiling without demanding much space at all.
