Pumpkin Form Glass Tumbler 350ml

A squat tumbler blown into a ribbed pumpkin shape, in coloured crystal glass. The ribs are the point: they refract whatever is in the glass and catch the light around the rim, so a table set with four of these has something going on even before anything is poured. It is a shape that flatters water and juice as much as it does wine.

Four colourways are offered and two of them are two-tone - yellow and green, and yellow and pink - with plain blue and plain pink for a more restrained table. Because the glasses are sold individually rather than as a boxed set, you can mix colours across a table, which is a far more interesting way to lay up than six identical glasses, and it makes it obvious whose glass is whose.

Each holds 350 millilitres and measures 11 centimetres across the widest point on a 7.8 centimetre base, which is a generous everyday tumbler rather than a delicate one. The low centre of gravity makes it stable on a garden table. They are dishwasher safe, though as with any coloured glass a cooler cycle will keep the colour brighter for longer. Do not use them for hot drinks or pour boiling water into them.
