PureStep Woven Kitchen Runner Mat

Standing at a sink or a hob is hard on the feet, and a thin mat does nothing about it. This one is woven in a flat braided pattern over a non-woven interlayer, so it has some give underfoot without being a trip hazard, and the rubber backing keeps it flat on tile, vinyl or wood rather than rucking up every time a cupboard door opens. The flat braided face also sheds crumbs and dust when it is shaken out, rather than holding them down in a deep pile.

Six sizes cover most kitchen layouts. The 44 by 75cm and 50 by 80cm suit a single work position at a sink. The 60 by 90cm is a generous square in front of a range. The 44 by 120cm, 45 by 150cm and 45 by 180cm are runners for a galley kitchen or a long counter, where one mat can cover the whole working length.

The fibres are certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which means they have been tested for harmful substances, and the whole mat is machine washable, which a kitchen floor covering genuinely needs to be. It comes in beige or grey, both neutral enough to sit under existing cabinetry. It also works well in an entrance hall or a utility room.
