Puzzle Block Wool Cushion 50cm

A generous square cushion whose edges are cut as interlocking puzzle tabs, so two or more sit together along a sofa as though they clip into one another. Bought singly the outline is quietly odd and reads as a soft sculptural object; bought in twos or threes the joke becomes obvious and the row of cushions turns into a single continuous band across the back of a seat.

The cover is premium virgin wool with a cotton filling, which gives the cushion real weight and a dry, matte surface rather than the sheen of a synthetic. At fifty by fifty centimetres it is larger than a standard scatter cushion and works better on a deep sofa or a bed than on a small armchair. Seven colourways are offered, including one split black above and white below.

Wool needs a little more care than polyester: vacuum on a low setting with an upholstery head, air the cushion rather than washing it, and have the cover cleaned professionally if it is badly marked. Keep it well away from open fires, candles and radiators, and do not place it where a pet is likely to claw at it, since pulled loops in a wool face will not sit back down.
