Quilted Dining Chair Seat Pad

Wooden dining chairs are handsome and, after about twenty minutes, uncomfortable. A proper seat pad fixes that for a fraction of the cost of new chairs, and this one is thick enough to make a real difference rather than the thin token pad that comes free with a set.

The cover is a quilted cotton blend over a resilient wadding, stitched in a grid that holds the filling evenly so it will not migrate to the edges after a few months. Six designs are offered, from plain and check to small-scale florals, so a set can be matched to a room or deliberately mismatched across chairs. Two fabric ties at the back corners hold it to the chair uprights, and the underside carries a fine non-slip finish for chairs with no uprights to tie to.

Shake and reshape while damp, and do not bleach or hot iron.
