Rekta Ribbed Black Outdoor Wall Light

The Rekta is a study in straight lines: a black metal hood over a ribbed acrylic diffuser, mounted flush to the wall. Lit, the fluted panel breaks the LED glow into fine vertical bands, giving the light a texture that a flat diffuser cannot match. It suits porches, terraces and courtyard walls where a crisp, modern silhouette is wanted rather than a decorative lantern.

Build quality is aimed squarely at the outdoors. The metal body carries an IP68 rating, the highest dust and water protection class, so driving rain is no concern in an exposed spot. The LED source is an SMD type drawing 39 watts and under, and it casts a bright, useful light without glare. The fitting measures 18 cm and runs on mains voltage through a hardwired connection.

Mounted either side of a door or spaced along a garden wall, the vertical banding gives more interest than a plain wash of light would. The box contains one wall lamp, and some assembly is required on installation. As with any mains fitting, a qualified electrician should wire it in, and the cable entry should be sealed against water before the hood is closed up. Wipe the ribbed diffuser clean so the banding stays sharp.
