The Relia pairs a black metal cage with crystal panels that catch and scatter the light, throwing a starburst pattern across the ceiling when it is switched on. It is a small fitting with a lot of presence, sized for the spots where a large pendant would be too much. Off, the cage reads as a neat geometric shape rather than a decorative flourish.

The frame is metal with crystal panels set into it, and it mounts flush to the ceiling with no assembly required. The light colour is controlled from the existing wall switch: flick it to move between warm white, natural white and cool white, so the same fitting can feel cosy in the evening and bright and practical during the day. It takes an E27 bulb.

It is made for hallways, landings and corridors, and a row of them down a hallway sets the light patterns overlapping so an ordinary ceiling becomes the most interesting surface in the house. It also works well in a small bedroom or a utility room, and the cage is compact enough to leave a low ceiling feeling open. Installation by a qualified electrician is recommended. Clean the crystal with a dry cloth once the bulb has fully cooled.
