Ripple Acrylic LED Ceiling Light

The diffuser on this fitting is moulded in overlapping layers so the surface reads as a series of ripples radiating from the centre. Switched off it is a textured white disc that catches daylight from the window; switched on, the ridges pick up the light unevenly and give the ceiling a sense of depth that a flat panel never does. It is a quiet piece of decoration that happens to be a main light.

Everything is acrylic, which keeps the fitting light on the ceiling fixing and makes the layered moulding possible in the first place. The LED sits behind the diffuser and is integrated, so there is no bulb to replace and nothing to unclip for cleaning beyond wiping the face with a dry cloth. Output is cool white, which is the more useful choice in a room used during the day.

Three diameters are offered: forty-one, fifty and sixty centimetres. The smallest suits a bedroom or a study, the middle a standard living room, and the sixty-centimetre version a larger open space or a kitchen-diner where a single fitting has to carry the whole room. All three are flush mounted and hardwired, so they replace an existing ceiling point rather than plugging in.
