Ryda Anthracite Aluminium Bollard Light

The Ryda is a 50 cm garden bollard built as an open frame rather than a solid post. Four slim anthracite uprights carry a chamfered cap at the top and a stepped plinth at the base, and the gap between them lets the eye pass straight through. The result is a fitting that marks the edge of a path without blocking the view along a border or a lawn, and that stays quiet in daylight rather than reading as another plastic post.

Die-cast aluminium gives the frame its weight and its clean powder-coated finish. Light comes from an LED module recessed under the cap, washing down the inner faces of the frame and picking out the vertical lines before it reaches the ground. That indirect route keeps the source out of sight at eye level. The integrated LED draws 11 W and produces 1100 lumens of warm white light at 3000 K.

One Ryda is bright enough to define a walkway on its own, and a repeated run along a drive, a border or a set of steps reads clearly at night without glare into a window or a seating area. Because the LED is integrated there is no bulb to buy or change. Set it on a firm, level base, keep the frame clear of overhanging planting so the downward wash is not interrupted, and wipe the powder coat occasionally to lift grit off the finish.
