Saturn Globe Table Lamp

A ringed planet, three-dimensionally printed with the banded surface texture picked out across the sphere, sitting on a turned hardwood base. The ring passes around it at a tilt, as it should, and the whole thing glows softly from within when switched on. It is the rare novelty lamp that survives daylight, because unlit it still reads as a decent model rather than a plastic toy.

Three sizes cover different jobs. Ten centimetres is a desk or a bedside piece, small enough to sit among books. Fifteen is the middle option and the one that works best on a shelf. Twenty centimetres becomes a proper focal point on a console or a child's chest of drawers. The globe is moulded from ABS and PVC with the hardwood base giving it enough weight to sit stable, and both warm and cool white settings are available so you can pick the mood.

It is rechargeable, running up to ten hours per charge, so there is no cable trailing across the surface once it is charged.
