Scandi Wood Wall Clock 25cm

Scandinavian design gets copied badly more often than almost anything else, usually by stripping a clock back until there is nothing left to look at. This one keeps the restraint but holds onto the material: a wooden case with a visible grain, a clean face, and slim hands with just enough weight to be readable from the other side of a room. At 25cm it is a working clock rather than a statement piece.

The movement is a silent sweep, which matters more than it sounds. There is no tick, so it can go in a bedroom, a study or a quiet living room without becoming the loudest thing in it - the second hand glides rather than stepping. Brown gives you a warmer, more traditional read against painted walls; cream is quieter still and disappears into a pale kitchen.

It hangs from a single fixing on the back and takes one AA battery, which is not supplied. Check the wall for pipes and cables before drilling, and use a fixing rated for your wall type. Dust the face with a dry cloth and keep the case out of direct steam, which will lift a wood veneer over time. Hung on a plain wall with space around it, the case and the hands both read far better.
