Seated Meditation Figure Sculpture

A figure at rest changes the temperature of a room. These seated sculptures are modelled with the long, smoothed lines of classical figurative work rather than anatomical detail, so what registers first is the posture - shoulders down, spine long, hands settled - and only afterwards the material. Six poses give you a set to choose from, each holding a slightly different degree of stillness.

The casting is resin with a soft stone-like finish, weighty enough in the hand to feel considered rather than hollow. They suit a hallway shelf, a windowsill, the corner of a desk or a spot beside a plant, and they work particularly well where a room needs something quiet to look at rather than another framed print. A pair at different poses reads better than a single piece in a large space.

This is a decorative sculpture and no properties of any kind are claimed for it. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight, which will lift the tone of the finish over time, and dust it with a soft dry brush rather than a wet cloth. Place it back from shelf edges and keep it out of reach of small children and pets. Given a little space and some side light, the modelling of the pose reads far more clearly.
