Single Lever Basin Mixer Tap

A single lever basin mixer is the simplest tap to live with. One handle, one hole, temperature and flow set in a single movement, and no pair of separate heads to get out of alignment over time. This one keeps the spout low and the body slim, which suits a modern countertop basin where a tall arched tap would splash and a traditional pillar pair would look wrong.

The valve is a ceramic disc cartridge rather than a rubber washer. That is the part that determines whether a tap still shuts off cleanly in five years, and ceramic discs are what every decent tap uses now - a quarter turn to full flow, no dripping, and no annual washer change. The body is stainless steel with a brushed finish that hides fingerprints far better than polished chrome.

Three finishes are available: a warm brushed gold, a neutral silver and a matt black. All three are deck mounted through a single hole. Before ordering, check that your basin is a single-hole type and that your existing supply tails will comfortably reach the connections; on an older UK system, a plumber can quickly confirm whether your water pressure suits a mixer of this pattern.
